Word from Jerusalem – August 2025
Date - 26.8.2025The Lion of Israel Rises over Iran
As Israel shakes off the dust of the short but intense war with Iran in June, this issue of the Word from Jerusalem magazine leads off with an insightful Bible commentary from ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler about this “Twelve Day War” entitled Israel, the Rising Lion.
Also, be sure to read the analysis on “A deserving end to Iran’s nuclear lies,” by ICEJ Senior Vice President & Spokesman David Parsons, as he discusses all the lies Iran spread about its “peaceful” nuclear program and how Israel and the US were justified in their surprise tactics in striking Tehran’s nefarious military and nuclear infrastructure.
We also cover the damage from the war in Israel, which left over 10,000 homeless. ICEJ visited the site of the deadliest missile impact in the city of Bat Yam to see the urgent needs and extend our help.
The ICEJ also continues to support the Gaza border communities in their efforts to rebuild since the October 7 massacres. Learn more about the plans underway to restore an Animal Therapy Center at Kibbutz Urim and how its animal therapy services are already making a difference in bringing healing to traumatised Israeli children.
In addition, catch a glimpse of recent events in Jerusalem on our Inside the Embassypages, and see how residents of the ICEJ’s Home for Holocaust survivors recently enjoyed outings and gained insight into their Jewish heritage.
Our Aliyah support continues to expand as we bring more Jews home from France and elsewhere, despite the war. And read more about the ICEJ’s standout efforts over the decades to support Jewish immigrants in our new Aliyah Hub at aliyah.icej.org.
Meanwhile, the ICEJ’s international branches are working hard in their nations to combat antisemitism and mobilise support for Israel. See highlights of recent events held, for instance, in the Czech Republic, Argentina, Italy, Spain and Finland.
Also, may you be blessed as you read about how the ICEJ is actively supporting and bringing comfort to the people of Israel through our many other AID projects.
