I was invited to the Israeli Embassy, London on the 9th January for an event I did not want to attend.  It was the showing of the collated videos by the IDF of the massacres of the 7th October 2023 in Israel.

These videos were live recordings made by Hamas terrorists as they carried out their barbarous and devilish attacks upon the Jewish Israelis, foreign workers, and the residents in the Kibbutzim around the Gaza strip.  We also saw video recordings of Israeli first responders.

What I witnessed was horrific, gruesome and evil in the first degree. It was a truly disturbing event to attend. How could human beings carry out such evil acts? Yet already we are hearing the doubters and those who deny these events took place.

Ambassador Tzipi Hotovely addressed us, being very moved herself, to invite us to be witnesses to these atrocities, to keep the memory of the hostages alive, remember the fallen, and to combat the growing Israel hatred and antisemitism.

It will be a day I will not forget. I left with a fresh determination to stand with Israel and to “comfort, comfort His people”. I was reminded of the scripture in Obadiah 1 v 15

“The day is near when I, the LORD, will judge all godless nations!  As you have done to Israel, so it shall be done to you. All your evil deeds will fall back on your own heads.” (NLT).

It is the God of Israel who will judge and bring justice. The battle belongs to the Lord, our warfare is in the heavenly places and our responsibility is to pray and intercede as well as show love and support to the Jewish people and Israel.

Israel and the Jewish people are hurting and broken at this time and need us to stand with them in prayer and practical love. The ICEJ is reaching out as your representatives in the Land and the UK to express that “comfort”.

Thank you for your financial support and prayers in these critical days. Lives are being deeply touched. God is at work and is answering those prayers.

The God of Israel will have the last word in these events.

Shalom,
Len Grates
