May the Word & Spirit Align in our Hearts
Date - 21.5.2026As we celebrate Pentecost we invite you to take a look at the deeper meaning behind this Feast. The events of Acts 2 happened during the Biblical Feast of Shavuot. Shavuot is the second of the three Pilgrim Feasts: Passover, Shavuot (Pentecost) and Tabernacles, and they are called the ‘Feasts of the Lord’ – see Leviticus 23.
The Lord commanded that these Feasts should be kept forever. The Lord wanted his people to make pilgrimage to Jerusalem, to worship Him at the temple at an appointed time known as the Moedim.
To keep the Feast was not meant to be a religious observance – to keep the Feast of the Lord was to have an encounter with the Lord of the Feast.
The Jewish celebration of Shavuot is centred around the giving of the law, or the Torah, and the birth Israel as a nation. At Pentecost each year, as wonderful as it is to celebrate the giving of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church, we miss so much in not understanding the connections with Shavuot.
We invite you to read these articles and watch the video below to enlighten and encourage you:
What happened at Pentecost was an alignment of Word and Spirit and now the Holy Spirit writes the Word of the Lord in our hearts. The power of Pentecost is fully realised when we experience power from on high to live the life that God intended.
Pray with us that at this season of Pentecost that a new revelation from on high will come upon the church of Jesus Christ. May all believers have an encounter with the Lord of the Feast and a deeper understanding from God’s word of His eternal plan and purpose for Israel.
May the Word and the Spirit fill all of us and guide us in these difficult days in which we live.
Chag Shavuot Sameach!
