We held our third ICEJ UK conference in Scotland, another opportunity to strengthen relationships with believers throughout Scotland and further develop the ministry in the region.

The day began with a joyous time of praise and worship led by Sisu, the ICEJ UK worship band.  Worship in both English and Hebrew was a blessing throughout the day.

We were welcomed by Dr David Elms, who addressed the issue of replacement theology within the Church. He introduced the Jerusalem Affirmation of the Nicene Creed, explaining its importance in confronting antisemitism, restoring biblical understanding, equipping church leaders, and encouraging prayer. Everyone received a copy of the affirmation to share with leaders in their own churches.

John Gharnim, a Yemenite believer, shared a powerful testimony about his journey from Islam to faith in Jesus Christ.  He described the personal cost of his decision as well as the joy the Lord has given him in his new life now.

Our keynote speaker, Simon Barrett of Revelation TV, provided a journalist’s perspective on developments across the Middle East, including Iran, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and Gaza. He discussed the role of the media in shaping public opinion and expressed concerns regarding reporting on Israel and the ongoing conflict. 

Simon also shared a personal testimony of God’s faithfulness and sustaining grace throughout his work in Christian broadcasting.

A Q&A session allowed delegates to engage with both John and Simon and explore a range of important issues in greater depth.

Throughout the conference, updates were provided on the work and ministry of ICEJ in both Israel and the UK.

The final session was devoted to prayer.

It was a wonderful conference where a spiritual legacy was deposited in Scotland, and we look forward to its development.

Standing Together

On July 12, 2026, people gathered at Garnethill Synagogue in Glasgow for a special “Standing Together” event, bringing Jews and Christians together. More than 150 people attended.

Dr. Susan Seigel, Chair of the synagogue, welcomed everyone and thanked ICEJ UK for its ongoing support of both Israel and the Jewish community.

Dr. David Elms shared some of the work ICEJ does around the world, including advocacy and support for Jewish people and communities.

The ICEJ worship team, SISU, along with guest singer Lydia, performed songs in Hebrew. The audience really appreciated it, and the synagogue’s acoustics made it even more memorable. It was wonderful to see Christians singing Hebrew songs in a UK synagogue.

Guests also enjoyed a beautiful musical performance from Lev Atlas, principal viola of the Scottish Opera Orchestra, accompanied by pianist Michael Barnett.

Sammy Stein from Glasgow Friends of Israel spoke about the Preservation Trust’s work at the synagogue and provided an update on current projects.

The event also included news about ICEJ’s work in the UK and internationally, with a focus on the round-the-clock prayer support for Israel and Jewish communities. Along with practical support like the project renovating MDA buildings led by John Hemus, a pastor from Liverpool. 

The keynote speaker, Simon Barrett, encouraged the Jewish community by highlighting the support they continue to receive from many Christians, especially during a time when antisemitism and misinformation are deeply concerning.  

To close the event, Susan Seigel thanked ICEJ for its friendship, support, and care for the Jewish community.
